Cancellation Policy

Reservation Confirmation (60 days prior to departure)

We will confirm your stay 60 days prior to arriving; prior to this time, huts may be cancelled due to low enrollment. We will notify you via email approximately 9 weeks prior to your arrival date that your final payment will be due soon (60 days prior to departure). You will have 1 week to decide how you would like to pay. If we do not hear from you within that time frame, we will charge the credit card on file. You will receive a payment confirmation via email at that time.

After your hut reservation is confirmed, it will not be cancelled for low enrollment, but in rare cases may be cancelled due to weather, government intervention, unsafe trail conditions, or any other reason that would affect the quality of the schedule tour or the safety of its participants. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, your request must be in writing – email is sufficient. Refunds will be given in accordance with our refund policy stated below.

You have 15 days from the time you booked to receive a full refund for cancellation.

Timeline for Final Payment

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION YOU WILL RECEIVE
From 15 days after you make your reservation until 60 days prior to your first arrival date 100% of what you have paid minus a $1200 processing fee per hut
59-45 days prior to your first arrival date 50% of what you have paid minus a $1,200 processing fee per hut
45-30 days prior to your first arrival date 15% of what you have paid minus a $1,200 processing fee per hut
29-0 days prior your first arrival date No Refund

Refunds

If we cancel your reservation for any reason, you will receive 100% of what you have paid. There is no partial refund if you arrive late to your reservation or depart early. In order to keep our huts affordable, we must adhere to this timeline without any exceptions. After our refund deadline has passed we cannot provide a refund for any reason, including circumstances beyond your control such as weather-related travel delays, family emergency, or injury.

Travel Plans

We advise you to avoid non-refundable flights and other travel arrangements and are not responsible for the costs of such arrangement in the event your reservation is cancelled.

Talked to some people who finished at Escalante yesterday. They said the bathrooms were terrible, enough ammonia smell to burn your eyes. We had the same experience exactly one year ago and ended up using the Forest Service Outhouses whenever possible.

Rain 🌧️ or shine ☀️, the huts are always a good time! 😁
